The staff was welcoming and accommodating, making me feel right at home during my stay. The proximity to the nearby train station was a huge plus for my travel needs.

However, the ongoing renovations were quite noticeable, making the overall ambiance a bit disrupted. Breakfast availability was lacking due to this situation, which was inconvenient.

Travelodge in Avenel has some solid perks. The location felt safe, and with the train station nearby, getting around was simple. The room had a refrigerator and microwave, which made snacks easy. Also, the hotel was undergoing renovations, so the ambiance showed potential for improvement. However, breakfast wasn't available due to the work, which was a letdown. I noticed some issues with cleanliness, especially in common areas. Overall, it served its purpose for a quick stop, but I think more attention to cleanliness would enhance the stay significantly.

The bed provided a decent night's sleep despite the surroundings—at least I didn't have to worry about the mattress being infested with anything but my own dreams. Plus, the location was convenient enough to reach main roads without making me feel like I was on some sort of intergalactic detour.

However, the room I ended up with was overrun by roaches that decided to make themselves at home as soon as I turned on the lights. The presence of long-term residents added to an uncomfortable vibe, what with kids running around and the apparent lack of cleanliness with stains on sheets that raised more questions than answers. The cigarette smell and ash on the floor created an atmosphere that was far from welcoming, making me second-guess my choice.
